We have an active group of parents and friends who support the group helping to organise events to raise funds and also arranging social events. Parents are encouraged to help as much as they can with all aspects of fund raising, this allows the leaders of the sections to concentrate on the sections activities.

In order to achieve our target of £250, 000 to fund our building costs, we need a little bit of help...

Here are some of the ways in which you can help:

Exciting news! We’re delighted to announce our fundraising web shop. When shopping online , you can access over 100 leading retailers using our web shop. Every time you use our web shop when shopping online, you’ll automatically earn money for us! You don’t pay anything extra by using our web shop, so please try to use it whenever you can.

Find our web shop at www.buy.at/5thurmstonscouts (please bookmark this link for future use).

We urgently need items to sell on the 5th Urmston Ebay site so as to raise funds for the group.

Buying and selling on Ebay through the 5th Urmston auction site would provide us with useful income, but first we need things to sell.  So this is a request please for donations of unwanted Christmas presents or heirlooms from the attic – anything that you think of that someone out there would be willing to buy.

The item doesn’t have to be big or expensive.   In fact novelty items often sell well.   All contributions will be gratefully received.  If you have any queries on suitability please contact the Chairman or the Group Scout Leader.

Otherwise bring your items for sale down to the headquarters and leave with any leader for collection.

Once we are up and running, you may find you want to join in the fun of bidding for something, perhaps as a gift or to boost your collection.

To see how we are getting on and join in the fun, follow this link to eBay or just search in community for 5thurmstonscouts.

The Buy a Brick Appeal is a way to raise funds for a new scout building for 2007.  The new facility would accommodate the District Scout Groups and allow it to expand it's groups activities to meet the community needs.

You can choose your brick in the following colours:

Platinum      £100

Gold           £50

Silver           £25

Bronze        £10
